KINGS OF PAPHLAGONIA. Pylaimenes II/III Euergetes, circa 133-103 BC. AE (Bronze, 22 mm, 5.78 g, 12 h). Bust of Pylaimenes, as Herakles, to right, with lion skin draped around neck and holding club over his left shoulder. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΠΥΛΑΙΜΕΝ[ΟΥ] / ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤ[ΟΥ] Nike standing left, holding wreath in her right hand and palm frond over her left shoulder. HGC 7, 440. SNG BM Black Sea 1550. Boldly struck and with a beautiful dark patina. Slightly smoothed and with minor adjustment marks and a small flan crack, otherwise, extremely fine.
